The RVU240HA-HS High Accuracy and High Torque Rotation Stage were initially designed to meet the specifications of large mirror mounts built for a high power laser facility and for use in a ISO-7 clean environment. The main screw and gear remain the same as on the standard RV stage but the screw is mounted rigidly on the worm gear, thus resulting in higher stiffness. In addition special ball bearings are used to get a high axial rigidity on the main screw. The use of a harmonic drive box featuring high stiffness with no play provides the high torque needed by the worm and gear assembly.
