The 68938 Power Supply is a reliable and economical DC power supply. It provides highly regulated constant current to a Quartz Tungsten Halogen (QTH) lamp or infrared (IR) emitter rated up to 140W. Light ripple of less than 0.4% rms is achievable when using this power supply with Oriel lamps, housings and rod mounts. A precision output control knob allows current adjustments to be made from 0 to 12 amps. The knob features a locking collar, eliminating the need to readjust the current once the desired set point is reached.

When turning on the light source, its soft-start feature ramps up the current gradually to prevent damage and prolong the life of a QTH lamp. The 68938 includes a safety interlock which disables the light source if encountering situations such as an open lamp housing, over temperature condition or incomplete electrical connection.
