The Model 75160NF Optical Chopper is used to introduce a periodic interruption of a light path in an optical experiment resulting in an amplitude modulation, which is useful for many small optical signal detection schemes. The modulation frequency can be controlled from 4 Hz to 2.0 kHz. Full control is available through the Optical Chopper Controller’s front panel. In addition, the Chopper Controller can be programmed over a USB communication interface to set and measure the modulation frequency, adjust the interruption phase, and perform all other operations available through the front panel The 75160NF includes: Chopper Controller, Oriel Chopper Head and interconnection cable, Chopper Wheel Set (2, 5, 12 and 30 apertures), USB Flash Drive containing the user manual, USB driver, GUI software application and documented programming example, Power supply cables (North American and European)
The Oriel Chopper Head includes standard 1.5-inch series flanges, allowing it to be coupled to a wide variety of Oriel instruments and accessories. The enclosed design allows high chopping rates to be utilized in a safe manner while improving performance. The enclosed chopper head design prevents detector saturation from unchopped background light and prevents scattering. The enclosure of the wheel also reduces noise and enhances safety. The 75160NF is automatically included with any order for the LIDA-SRS-KIT Lock-in Digital Amplifier.
