The 1591NF Fiber-Opic Receiver is ideal for fast, accurate, waveform measurements across all communications wavelengths from 450-870 nm, and across multiple communications protocols, including Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, Xaui, and OC-48. Its clean 115 ps FWHM pulse response along with its DC coupling makes it well-suited for time-domain characterizations of 2.5-Gbit/s components and extinction-ratio measurements. The high gain and gradual well-behaved roll-off of the frequency response make it also useful for frequency-domain measurements. The 1591 photoreceiver comes standard with multimode 62.5 micron fiber inputs, and a convenient DC bias monitor that has a trans impedance gain of 1 mV/μA and a bandwidth of 50 kHz.
