Wavelength Extender

The SCG-02 Wavelength Extender is a modular solution designed specifically for the generation of supercontinuum with a femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser, such as the Tsunami® or MaiTai® ultrafast oscillator. The supercontinuum is generated in an SCG-800 photonic crystal fiber module. The Wavelength Extender is a pre-aligned turn-key solution for various spectroscopy and microscopy applications. This device can be easily integrated with ultrafast light sources to perform multimodal spectroscopy and imaging. It can also be integrated with two-photon microscopes to add modalities and enhance imaging capabilities.The Wavelength Extender is a simpler, but more flexible variant of the Wavelength Extension Unit (WEU-02). Whereas the Wavelength Extension Unit has a built-in delay line and filters designed to recombine both the pump and filtered (>800 nm) Stokes outputs in a single beam path that is spatially and temporally overlapped, the Wavelength Extender outputs broadband, unfiltered supercontinuum parallel to the fundamental beam path. This flexibility allows for the use of external filters to separate out specific spectra of interest from the supercontinuum. The remaining fundamental passes through an integrated attenuator, and allows for the recombination or independant use of both outputs. Additional modules can be used to scale up for additional multibeam applications. The high performance optical and optomechanical components make this device robust and stable. The device is factory assembled and prealigned, for quick setup and integration. Factory installation is available.
