The National Instruments cRIO-9038 Embedded CompactRIO Controller with Real-Time Processor and Reconfigurable FPGA combines a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom dual-core processor, an Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA, and eight slots for C Series I/O modules to provide a high-performance control and monitoring system in a rugged, fanless, and compact enclosure capable of surviving the harshest environments. The controller supports dual power supply inputs with a wide input range of 9 VDC to 30 VDC to ensure reliable operation in mission-critical tasks. It also features a variety of connectivity options including two Gigabit Ethernet, two USB Hi-Speed host, one USB device, and two serial ports.

This software-designed controller runs the NI Linux Real-Time OS, which gives developers access to the Linux community's massive software ecosystem. The embedded user interface capability of NI Linux Real-Time enables the implementation of a local human machine interface (HMI) to simplify your application development. With support for GigE cameras and hundreds of functions in the Vision Development Module, this controller is well suited for vision applications. You can also offload some of the image processing to the FPGA to drastically improve system performance. The CompactRIO 8-slot performance controller is ideal for complex machine control applications. It has the performance and capabilities to consolidate many common tasks in a single controller, which reduces system cost, development time, and complexity.
