The PXI-7854R combines analog acquisition, voltage generation and digital I/O with FPGA-based control. A dedicated ADC on each input supports independent timing and triggering, including multirate acquisition and individual channel triggering.

Unlike fixed-function DAQ hardware, R Series devices allow the application to define I/O behavior in the FPGA. Digital lines can implement counters, PWM, encoder interfaces or digital communication protocols. FPGA development uses the LabVIEW FPGA Module; R Series devices use NI-RIO rather than NI-DAQmx.
