The PXIe-8370 provides the chassis-side connection for an MXI-Express x4 remote control system. NI documents host-PC configurations using a PCIe-8371 or PCIe-8372 host board and an MXI-Express x4 copper cable.

The module installs in the PXI Express system controller slot, rather than a peripheral or hybrid slot. NI also documents chassis-to-chassis expansion using a PXIe-8374 upstream interface connected to a PXIe-8370 in the downstream chassis.
