The PXI-7811R provides digital-only I/O controlled by a user-programmable FPGA. Its 160 lines are distributed across four digital connectors, with 40 lines per connector.

Rather than relying on fixed-function timing circuitry, the module executes user-defined FPGA logic. Creating new FPGA VIs requires the LabVIEW FPGA Module; system planning should also include the appropriate digital cable and terminal-block pinout.

Does the PXI-7811R provide analog I/O?

No. NI identifies the PXI-7811 as a digital-only device with 160 DIO lines; analog I/O is provided by other R Series models.

Can its outputs directly drive 5 V CMOS inputs?

Not reliably without additional interfacing. NI states that these PXI R Series outputs do not provide a high enough output-high voltage to ensure a valid high for 5 V CMOS inputs; its guidance calls for an external pull-up resistor to 5 V.

Which digital cable and terminal blocks does NI list?

NI lists the SHC68-68-RDIO cable with SCB-68 or SCB-68A terminal blocks for PXI-7811. Use the appropriate R Series pinout label rather than assuming a generic terminal-block mapping.
