The PXIe-7971 combines programmable FPGA resources with modular FlexRIO I/O. Pairing it with an appropriate FlexRIO adapter module provides analog or digital interfaces for a reconfigurable instrument programmed in LabVIEW FPGA.

Peer-to-peer streaming enables direct transfers between supported FPGA modules or selected PXI Express modules without routing data through the host processor. The module has embedded block RAM but no onboard DRAM.
