The National Instruments VME-MXI-2 interface board is a 6U, single-slot VMEbus extender based on MXI-2 technology. This interface extends the VMEbus architecture outside a VME mainframe via the high-performance MXI-2 cable link. The VME-MXI-2 can interconnect multiple VME chassis, enabling them to operate as a single VME system. This interface is also a solution for VME systems that need high-performance control of VME using an external computer.

The VME-MXI-2 interface includes an optional dual-ported DRAM expansion up to 64 MB and is usable in B-Size VXI Systems.
