Is the SCB-68 a matrix switch?

No. NI identifies the SCB-68 as a shielded I/O connector terminal block for DAQ signal connections, not a matrix switch.

Does the SCB-68 provide electrical isolation?

No. It is a breakout terminal block, not an electronic isolator. Its enclosure provides EMI shielding when used with a suitable shielded cable.

What changes when differential cold-junction compensation is enabled?

The onboard temperature sensor uses AI 0 and AI 8, making those inputs unavailable for other connections in this configuration. Follow NI's switch-setting and DAQ configuration instructions.
