This module connects a PXI system to industrial RS-422 and RS-485 devices. NI identifies its bus connection as PXI Hybrid and provides isolation between ports and between the ports and PC.

The hardware guide lists DB-9 male connectors and a 128-byte FIFO. The maximum baud rate is mode-dependent: two-wire automatic RS-485 transceiver control is limited to 2 Mbaud rather than the overall 3 Mbaud maximum.

  • Selectable two-wire and four-wire modes for half-duplex and full-duplex communication.

Does the PXI-8433/2 support RS-232?
