Designed for MXI-2 system integration, the PXI-8320 connects PXI/CompactPCI computing resources to MXIbus. Its communications registers allow it to appear as a VXIbus device to the MXIbus system.

NI documents the module in VXI-PXI8015 and VME-PXI8015 interface systems. These configurations use a corresponding remote-bus interface and MXI-2 cable; the board-only module is not a complete interface kit.

  • Supports master and slave block transfers, including synchronous block transfers.
  • Provides MXIbus interrupt handling and requesting on levels 1 through 7.
  • Optional DRAM can serve as a buffer or shared memory for MXIbus and VXI/VMEbus.
