Does this board execute real-time code onboard?

Yes. Its dedicated processor runs downloaded LabVIEW Real-Time applications.

Can I assume compatibility with current LabVIEW versions?

No. NI documents version-specific software requirements for the 7030 family. A later NI readme states that LabVIEW Real-Time 6.1 and later does not support the 7030 processor board; verify the complete legacy software configuration before use.
