Overview

Product overview

Key product information and technical features.

The PXI-4472 fits into PXI measurement systems requiring multichannel acquisition from accelerometers and microphones. Its built-in IEPE conditioning supports these sensors without a separate IEPE conditioning stage.

Multiple PXI-4472 modules can be synchronized for higher channel counts. For PXI systems, NI specifies PXI_STAR synchronization; the RTSI connection described for PCI versions should not be confused with the PXI synchronization path.

  • Simultaneous digitization across all eight input channels.
  • Integrated IEPE conditioning for accelerometers and microphones.
  • Built-in antialiasing filters automatically track the selected sample rate.
  • Independent software selection of IEPE excitation on each channel.

FAQ

Product-specific questions

Product-specific answers based on available technical information.

Does the PXI-4472 sample its inputs simultaneously?

Yes. All eight analog input channels are sampled simultaneously.

Can it provide excitation for IEPE sensors?

Yes. Each channel independently supports software-selectable 0 or 4 mA IEPE excitation, with 24 V compliance.

How does its AC cutoff differ from the PXI-4472B?

The PXI-4472 has a 3.4 Hz AC-coupling cutoff at −3 dB. The PXI-4472B has a lower 0.5 Hz cutoff; these are distinct models.
