Overview

Product overview

Key product information and technical features.

The PXI-4130 supports programmable source-and-measure operations through NI-DCPower. Voltage or current updates can be combined with measurements in software-controlled loops for device testing and characterization.

Power configuration matters: operation without auxiliary power restricts channel 1 to a 2 W/300 mA operating envelope. Select the power arrangement before evaluating the required voltage-current operating points.

  • Four-quadrant operation on channel 1.
  • Remote sensing on the SMU channel.
  • NI-DCPower measurement averaging supports a trade-off between reading rate and noise rejection.
  • Software-controlled voltage and current sweeps.

FAQ

Product-specific questions

Product-specific answers based on available technical information.

Does the PXI-4130 perform hardware-timed sweeps?

No. NI states that PXI-4130 sequences and sweeps must be performed and timed by software. Output settling and measurement averaging affect the achievable source-measure loop rate.

Can multiple PXI-4130 SMU channels be combined?

NI documents series and parallel configurations for channel 1 using APS-4100 auxiliary supplies. Follow the documented wiring, isolation limits, and stability checks; parallel voltage-mode operation requires particular care to prevent one SMU from sinking another's output.
