Overview

Product overview

Key product information and technical features.

The PXI-2599 provides two single-pole double-throw relay paths for selecting signal routes or inserting and removing components from a signal path. NI also identifies upconverter harmonic routing and routing multiple sources to RF downconverters as applications.

NI-SWITCH documents the module's 2-SPDT topology and supports immediate and scanning operation. Onboard relay count tracking helps monitor relay usage.

  • Two SPDT relays for RF signal routing.
  • Electromechanical, latching relay construction.
  • Onboard relay count tracking.
  • Immediate and scanning operation through NI-SWITCH.

FAQ

Product-specific questions

Product-specific answers based on available technical information.

What switch topology does the PXI-2599 provide?

It provides a 2-SPDT topology with two single-pole double-throw relays. NI-SWITCH supports immediate and scanning operation.

Can the PXI-2599 switch an active RF source?

NI recommends against switching active RF signals because relay actuation momentarily leaves the channel unterminated, potentially exposing the source to damaging reflections.

Is the 150 W carry rating valid at 26.5 GHz?

No. NI specifies 150 W through 3 GHz and 25 W through 26.5 GHz. Use the frequency-dependent carry-power table when selecting signal levels.
