Overview

Product overview

Key product information and technical features.

Placed between an HIL simulator and the device under test, the PXI-2514 introduces electrical faults without changing the external wiring for each test. Closed feedthrough channels provide the normal signal path; channels can then be opened or connected to either of two fault buses.

NI identifies ECU and FADEC reliability validation as applications when the unit is controlled with LabVIEW Real-Time. Supported fault scenarios include interrupted connections, pin-to-pin shorts, shorts to battery voltage, and shorts to ground.

  • Per-channel open-circuit and short-circuit fault insertion.
  • Two fault buses for configurable fault connections.
  • Overcurrent and overtemperature detection circuitry.

FAQ

Product-specific questions

Product-specific answers based on available technical information.

Can every path carry 40 A simultaneously?

The specification distinguishes 40 A with a single path closed from 25 A with multiple paths closed, per channel or common. Apply the documented cooling conditions and cycle-rate limits.

Which faults can the PXI-2514 simulate?

It can simulate open or interrupted connections, pin-to-pin shorts, shorts to battery voltage, and shorts to ground on individual channels.

Can it connect directly to mains circuits?

No. NI prohibits direct mains connections and use in Measurement Categories II, III, or IV.
