The PXI-2510 sits in the signal path between test equipment and a device under test. Closed feedthrough paths provide normal signal connections; relay configurations introduce interruptions or connect DUT signals to fault buses to evaluate responses to wiring faults.

NI identifies ECU and FADEC validation as product applications when controlled with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module. Its two fault buses provide selectable external fault connections for automated test sequences.

Simulates open-circuit, pin-to-pin, short-to-battery and short-to-ground faults.
Two fault buses with four switchable inputs per bus allow selection among external fault potentials.
PXI trigger lines 0 through 7 support input and output triggering.
Electromechanical, non-latching relays are field replaceable.

What faults can the PXI-2510 simulate?

It supports open or interrupted connections, pin-to-pin shorts, shorts to battery voltages and shorts to ground on a per-channel basis.

Can every channel operate at 2 A with a cable attached?

Not without additional restrictions. NI specifies 1 A per channel with cable at 0–55 °C or 1.5 A at 0–40 °C. Achieving 2 A with a cable assembly requires special signal routing precautions described in the DIN160 cable instructions; total module current limits also apply.

Are 150 V and 2 A simultaneous switching ratings?

The voltage and current maxima do not override the 60 W maximum switching power per channel. All applicable voltage, current, power and cable limits must be satisfied.
