The NI-9411 interfaces with industrial switches, transducers and digital devices. Its correlated digital functionality supports measurement timing, triggering and synchronization when installed in a CompactDAQ chassis.

Differential and single-ended operation are selected by wiring rather than a software setting. Differential signals connect to both DIa and DIb; single-ended signals use the positive input with the negative input left floating, following NI's connection guidance.

Maximum input propagation delay of 500 ns.
Supports CompactDAQ counter applications.
Accepts differential TTL encoder signals when the signal pairs are fully wired.

How is differential or single-ended mode selected?

The mode is determined by wiring, not software configuration. Differential operation uses DIa and DIb. For single-ended operation, connect the positive input and leave the negative input floating as described by NI.

Can the NI-9411 accept differential TTL encoder signals?

Yes. NI identifies the NI-9411 as a differential TTL input option and instructs users to fully connect the encoder's differential signal pairs.

Are the input channels individually isolated?

No. There is no channel-to-channel isolation. The continuous channel-to-earth isolation rating is 30 Vrms, 42.4 Vpk or 60 VDC.
