Overview

Product overview

Key product information and technical features.

Designed for CompactDAQ and CompactRIO systems, the NI-9217 measures PT100 RTDs using a scanned, delta-sigma conversion architecture.

Selectable high-speed and high-resolution modes let users prioritize conversion speed or noise rejection. Channel-to-earth isolation does not provide channel-to-channel isolation.

  • Automatic detection of 3- or 4-wire RTD connections.
  • Selectable high-sample-rate and high-resolution modes.
  • 1 mA excitation per channel.
  • 50/60 Hz noise rejection in high-resolution mode.

FAQ

Product-specific questions

Product-specific answers based on available technical information.

Which RTD wiring configurations does the NI-9217 support?

It supports 3- and 4-wire PT100 RTDs and automatically detects the connected wiring type.

Does the NI-9217 officially support 2-wire RTDs?

No. NI documents a wiring workaround but does not specify 2-wire measurement accuracy. Uncompensated lead resistance reduces accuracy.

Is 400 S/s the rate for each channel?

No. NI specifies 400 S/s aggregate and describes the module as 100 S/s per channel.
