The NI-5742 adds multichannel analog signal generation to a FlexRIO FPGA system. It is an adapter module, not a standalone signal generator; NI describes the combined adapter and FPGA module as the NI 5742R.

Output polarity is configured programmatically through an FPGA I/O node. Bipolar operation spans -2.5 to +2.5 V, while unipolar operation spans 0 to 5 V.

Can the NI-5742 operate by itself?

No. It is an adapter designed to work with an NI FlexRIO FPGA module.

Does the NI-5742 support a 0 to 5 V output range?

Yes. Select unipolar operation for 0 to 5 V, or bipolar operation for -2.5 to +2.5 V, using the FPGA I/O polarity configuration.

Is the AUX I/O connector an HDMI interface?

No. Although its connector accepts an HDMI cable, AUX I/O is not an HDMI interface and must not be connected to another device's HDMI port.
