The PXIe-3352 generates high-stability clock signals for PXI and third-party instrumentation. Its built-in GPS receiver disciplines the rubidium oscillator when connected to an external antenna.

Astronics identifies telecommunications timing, calibration and metrology, and RF subsystems as applications. The module supports free-running operation as well as GPS-assisted long-term stability.

  • External DC input can maintain oscillator power while the chassis is off.

Does the PXIe-3352 require GPS reception to operate?

No. The rubidium oscillator can operate freely or lock to the built-in GPS receiver.

Is the GPS antenna built in?

No. GPS disciplining requires an external antenna with a view of the sky; the manufacturer's datasheet states that the antenna is not included.

Can it override the PXI 10 MHz backplane clock without external cabling?

No. NI lists backplane clock override as unsupported.
