The PCI-8512 connects a PCI host to a CAN network for frame- and signal-based development. NI identifies hardware-in-the-loop simulation, rapid control prototyping, bus monitoring, and automation control as product applications.

Within NI-XNET, signal databases support translating network frames into engineering-level signals. Supported database formats include FIBEX, CANdb (.DBC), and NI-CAN (.NCD).

Device-driven DMA reduces host CPU interrupt overhead during CAN data transfers.

Does this record identify the one-port or two-port version?
