Overview

Product overview

Key product information and technical features.

The NI 9229 fits NI CompactDAQ and CompactRIO measurement systems. Each input has an independent signal path and ADC, enabling simultaneous acquisition across all four channels.

Its floating, isolated inputs help reduce ground-loop measurement errors. NI identifies 779785-01 as the screw-terminal version; connector and isolation ratings differ between versions.

  • Simultaneous differential voltage acquisition.
  • Channel-to-channel isolation.
  • Analog and digital anti-alias filtering.
  • Independent delta-sigma ADCs for the input channels.

FAQ

Product-specific questions

Product-specific answers based on available technical information.

Is the NI 9229 an analog output module?

No. It measures voltage through four differential analog input channels; it is not a 4–20 mA current output module.

Does 50 kS/s apply to each channel?

Yes. The specified maximum is 50 kS/s per channel, with simultaneous sampling.

What isolation ratings apply to screw-terminal and BNC versions?

The datasheet specifies 250 Vrms CAT II continuous isolation for the screw-terminal version and 60 VDC CAT I for BNC, both channel-to-channel and channel-to-earth. Additional restrictions apply in hazardous locations.
