The NI cRIO-9025 is an embedded real-time CompactRIO controller for control and monitoring. It uses an 800 MHz PowerPC processor and requires a compatible separate chassis for C Series I/O.

The cRIO-9025 provides the real-time processing element in a modular CompactRIO system. It is a controller, not a C Series I/O module or an integrated eight-slot chassis.

Its VxWorks operating system distinguishes it from NI Linux Real-Time controllers. Software selection should therefore account for this target architecture; NI specifically excludes this controller from LabVIEW OPC UA Toolkit support.

Does the cRIO-9025 include I/O slots?

No. C Series modules require a separate compatible CompactRIO chassis.

Does the cRIO-9025 run NI Linux Real-Time?

No. It runs VxWorks.

Can I use the LabVIEW OPC UA Toolkit on this controller?

NI states that the toolkit is not supported on the cRIO-9025 because its operating system is VxWorks.

How is the second Ethernet port configured?

Assign a static IP address in NI MAX on a different subnet from Ethernet port 1. Ethernet port 2 does not support DHCP.
