The CPS-8910 provides PCI Express connectivity for large MIMO systems, rather than analog or digital measurement channels. NI describes its use with software-defined radio reconfigurable devices and configurations containing multiple switches connected to a PXI Express chassis.

Choose the upstream interface around the host hardware and aggregate data rate. NI specifies upstream bandwidth limits of 3.2 GB/s for Gen 2 x8 and 832 MB/s for Gen 1 x4, shared across the attached USRP devices.

Is the CPS-8910 an analog data acquisition module?

No. NI identifies it as a cabled PCI Express switch for system expansion, not an analog acquisition module.

Can both upstream ports operate simultaneously?

No. Select either the Gen 2 x8 or Gen 1 x4 upstream connection; only one can be used at a time.

Can downstream devices use fiber-optic cables?

Yes, but NI requires the upstream interface to be configured for fiber support. Correct host hardware and specialized Gen 1 x4 fiber cables are required for downstream USRP RIO connections.
