Overview

Product overview

Key product information and technical features.

The PXI-2567 provides drive channels for external relays rather than an integrated relay-contact switching topology. NI identifies it for custom switching arrangements and systems that locate switching close to the device under test.

Internal power supports lower-power coil requirements, while an external supply enables operation within the module's 50 V DC, 600 mA-per-channel and 25 A-total limits. NI-SWITCH provides an IVI-compliant software interface for controlling the module.

  • 64 independent external relay-drive channels.
  • Supports internal or external drive-power sources.
  • Overcurrent, overvoltage and flyback protection for inductive loads.
  • Hardware-triggered scanning with scan lists of up to 32,000 connections.
  • Can drive small DC motors and other inductive relay coils within its electrical limits.

FAQ

Product-specific questions

Product-specific answers based on available technical information.

Does the PXI-2567 require an external power supply?

Not for every application. Internal drive power provides 5 V at up to 1.25 A and 12 V at up to 0.5 A. An external supply can be used for other coil requirements within the 50 V DC, 600 mA-per-channel and 25 A-module limits.

What does the 600 mA rating describe?

It is the maximum drive current for each channel, not a rating for the contacts of an external relay. The total module drive current must also remain within 25 A.

How are external relays connected?

External wiring uses the module's 78-pin D-SUB connector. Follow NI's pinout and signal-connection guidance, including its instruction not to connect reserved pins.

Which driver controls the PXI-2567?

NI documents NI-SWITCH support for the PXI-2567, with earliest supported driver version 2.5.0. Check the chosen driver release for operating-system and development-environment support.
